REMIXES
in reverse chronological order
some of these mp3s are available in the
FREE MP3s section!

Buck 65 "Shutterbuggin'"
(Abbey Mix)
all keyboards and computer production
NOTES: Buck 65 is my all-time favorite hip-hop artist. This
was for a contest held by Strange Famous Records (Sage Francis'
record label). I didn't even get placed wit hthe 6 finalists, but...
I gave it a shot. I was going for a retro/Beatles-ish vibe, completely
different from the original version... but ah well. I'm still damn
proud of it. :)

East Hundred "Numbers"
(3 remixes, all credited to Chris Caulder and/or The Borough)
all keyboards and computer production
NOTES: I love this band, and offered to remix the awesome
track "Numbers" for them. :)

Lovespirals "Motherless
Child" (Chris Caulder Remix)
all keyboards and computer production
NOTES: This was requested by my friend Anji Bee (lead vocalist
and co-songwriter in Lovespirals) for an internet remix EP. I'm
pretty proud of it. It's more aggressive than the original version,
which is guitar and vocals only. Anji and Ryan both dug it, and
I'm glad because it's a great cover of an old blues song. Thanks,
guys!

Bang Gang - "It's
Alright " (Resistor Remix)
keyboards, computer production and arrangement
NOTES: This was supposed to be done for a contest to win a trip
to Iceland, courtesy of Bardi and his awesome group Bang Gang, but
I never finished the remix in time. Still a fucking great song.
Bang Gang gets better with every album.

Copeland - "No
One Really Wins" (Reconstruction Mix)
computer production and rearrangement
NOTES: I loved this song the first time I heard it, but thought
it could use more instruments and a different arrangement. I got
all the parts of the song from ACIDPLANET.COM for a remix contest,
but never submitted anything for the contest. The second chorus
in this song always seemed like it should have been the first chorus.
And the original first chorus of the song sounded so empty. So I
rearranged some things and added some production, and some glitchy
vocal tweaks... Copeland is an amazing band.

Sarah Fimm - "Be
Like Water" (Isolation Mix)
Sarah Fimm - "Mercury"
(Scatter Mix)
Rhodes Piano, keyboards and production
NOTES: NYC singer/songwriter Sarah Fimm was asking fans of hers
to remix a few of her songs, and I did just for fun and because
she is such a considerable talent. The remixes had a chance to be
released officially by Sarah, but mine weren't chosen. I think they're
pretty damn good, though.

Lunascape - "Mindstalking"
(Response Mix)
Lunascape - "Mindstalking"
(Retro Mix)
keyboards and production
NOTES: These remixes were for a contest on ACIDPLANET.COM.
I thought for sure I would win first place, especially when I heard
a lot of other versions which were sub-par. Alas, it didn't... but
my good friend Rom Di Prisco (aka Bitstream Dream)'s version did.
The second remix was hella fun to remix... I took a 2004 downtempo
song and made it like it came out of 1985. I love the 80s.
Kosheen
- "Catch" (Night
Mix)
drums, Rhodes piano, keyboards, production
NOTES: This ultra-slow remix of an upbeat pop song was up on
the Beauty's
Confusion website for a few months but recently, Kosheen's management
wanted it taken down immediately, since it was not commissioned
or solicited. I only did the remix as a fan... I had no intention
of making any money with it (and we did not make a penny). I quickly
obliged and removed the MP3 from the site after receiving the email
from their management. Whoops.

Natalie Walker - "Colorblind"
(Ice Remix)
all keyboards and production
NOTES: When Natalie Walker was the lead vocalist for trip-hop
trio Daughter Darling, I was asked to do a remix of their version
of the Counting Crows song "Colorblind." I happily agreed,
being as Natalie Walker is a tremendous talent, and a really nice
person to boot. The remix was on the Daughter Darling website for
a while, and then Natalie left the group and got signed to a UK
label, and recently released a full-length solo record. No doubt
this woman will go very, very far. She's already arrived.

Public Enemy - "MKLVFKWR"
(Make Love Fuck War)
all keyboards, turntables, guitars and computer production
NOTES: I found this acapella track on iTunes. Moby initially mentioned it in his syndicated livejournal when he did the collaboration with Public Enemy, and I decided to buy the acapella and remix the song since the vocals was available without Moby's music. Personally I think the original song's music is kind of boring, even though I LOVE Moby and basically everything he's done. My remix cranks the intensity up a few notches. ;)

Tori Amos "Me
and a Gun"
all keyboards and computer production
NOTES: This is the first remix I ever made. Since the original
song is just Tori singing, I thought, "what better song to
experiment with remixing?" I love the lyrics of this song,
and think Tori Amos is fucking amazing, basically... I'm not terribly
proud of the remix but for something thrown together in four hours,
it's not a bad first attempt. I arranged it in Fruity Loops 2.5.
